Mockups
A note about the audio examples:
- All of the mockups on this website are performed, programmed, mixed and mastered by me. Information on the composers of each piece can be found by clicking on the text of each title. The Film and TV mockups are done generally in the spirit of the original, with a few minor alterations/enhancements here and there. The Video Game mockups are much more liberal in their interpretation, given that most are transcriptions from 8 and 16 bit soundtracks and many times the original instruments they intended to represent are indefinite, leaving room for some creative orchestration. The Classical mockups are studies in realism, trying to achieve the most convincing performances with the virtual instruments at my disposal. The Spatial Audio examples presented here are experiments in 3D audio mixing. All of the Spatial Audio examples on the site are rendered in the head-locked binaural format. Binaural audio is intended for listening over headphones, so I recommend wearing them on the Spatial Audio examples to get the best effect. Also, the head-locked binaural format is perhaps the weakest of the 3D audio formats, but it is the path available for compatibility with normal headphones, so keep in mind that this is just a taste of what Spatial Audio has to offer. I also mix in 3rd-7th order ambisonics, 7.1.4 surround, as well as 3DoF and 6DoF binaural (for use with headphones that have head tracking as well as AR/VR devices for immersive audio). For listening examples in these formats you can schedule a listening appointment or request links for downloads if you have equipment suitable for monitoring immersive audio.
